No way to tell, no - at least not from Lalo's position.
Also correct!
They were pretty quick to pull the trigger, without taking the time (or making any noise that would indicate that they had tried) to check the chamber first.
No strong smells, no. Perhaps a combination of the local environment plus shock from his injuries kept Lalo from getting a good sniff? Or maybe they just don't have a very intense scent to them? Hard to say, given the circumstances.
The arrow looked hand-made. Professionally done, though.
Matched, gray-white feathers, precisely cut and shaped.
A quiet but sharp whistle - likely the sound of the bolt moving through the air. It preceded the impact by only a second or two.
No signs of trails from game or otherwise. The local foliage was almost deliberately undisturbed.
Definitely a front door, definitely several windows on a first and second floor, but hard to get a good count while he was hanging upside-down from a kilometer away. Second floor had some kind of front balcony and there may have been a porch leading to the front door. Everything seemed like it was made of wood, like a log cabin, but again the distance (and circumstances) make this hard to determine for sure.
No weird twigs. Lalo did spot a few suspiciously bent branches on trees further towards the cabin, though - likely indicating other traps like the one he ran into.
