It only takes a few hours to reach Harley's camp in square VI.AA.29, and from there they make quick progress through the foothills and, halfway through morning of the next day, the airfield. They end up camping in square X.D.5 to pass Night 027.

The only crab-related thing that happens to the group occurs in the very early morning on Day 028; the first strange rumblings from the southeast stir them, which is probably for the best, because within moments the ground starts to shift underneath where they sleep. Coconut crabs by the dozens begin to boil out of the earth itself - mostly small ones, although within a few minutes some larger specimens appear from nearby tree hollows and the like. They all seem pretty disorganized and disoriented, though, which gives the group plenty of time to quickly gather their things and move on.
