The Hunter watches him approach with a couple of slow blinks but remains otherwise unmoving - until Rust is about four clicks-and-hums into his Morse code message. Then, with what is unmistakably a roll of all four of their eyes, the creature cuts Rust off by shooting him in the throat. He dies soon after.
